    • Amze Emmons is a multi-disciplinary artist with a background in printmaking and drawing. His research interests include wandering and noticing; the politics of architecture; vernacular design; everyday evidence of community; games, play, and generative systems; and tracking the ways Print and Material Cultural history inform our current digital age.

    • Corinne Teed is a research-based artist working in printmaking, book arts, time-based media, and social practice. Their work lives at the intersections of queer theory, ecology, and critical animal studies in the context of settler colonialism.     • Emma Flick is a multidisciplinary artist with a background in printmaking and print-publishing whose work explores archival systems, relationships with place, and the materiality of the print process. She serves as the executive director of Second State Press, a non-profit printmaking studio located in the South Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia, and has worked as an edition printer for artists including Alison Saar, Arnold J. Kemp and Jenny Schmid.

    • Amira F. Pualwan is a multidisciplinary artist and educator based in Philadelphia. She has completed residencies at Highpoint Center for Printmaking, the Minnesota Center for Book Arts, and the Women's Studio Workshop Beisinghoff Residency. She is an obsessive dog-mom, mediocre (but passionate) swimmer, and believes in the positive power of homemade pastries.

    • Susan White is an artist, printmaker, teacher, parent, small business owner and a gardener who lives and works in Philadelphia. Her artwork references the natural world and utilizes printmaking, installation and book arts. Solo exhibitions include In the Weeds (2021) at Millersville University, Encircle (2017) at the Philadelphia Art Alliance, Disorder at The Print Center (2009), and read (2009) at The Crane Arts Building in Philadelphia.

    John Dowell (BFA '63)

    • John E. Dowell, Jr., a nationally recognized artist, captures the pulse of cities and agricultural landscapes of America in his large-scale photographs. Working primarily from sunset until dawn, he focuses on the surface of buildings, the reflections of their exteriors and, quietly, their interior spaces. Illuminating the unseen, he brings awareness to a single moment.

      Dowell’s fine art prints, paintings and photographs have been featured in more than 50 one-person exhibitions, and represented in the permanent collections of 70 museum and public collections, including the Museum of Modern Art and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.

    • Richard Hricko is a printmaker whose work presents composite details of the natural and built environment that honor nature, industry and the course of decay and recovery. Influenced by the tradition of ruins in Italian art, he similarly expresses the passage of time and invokes longing and the pathos of things forgotten but from a uniquely magnified perspective. Hricko has exhibited work nationally and internationally in museums and galleries, including the International Print Center, Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition and the National Academy Museum in New York; Tanks Art Centre, Australia and PH21 Gallery, Budapest.

    • Professor Emerita Hester Stinnett retired in December 2023 after four decades of educating students in the practice of printmaking and playing a pivotal role as interim dean of Tyler when the institution needed a steady and visionary leader. Her dedication, leadership, and commitment have left an enduring legacy.

    Rochelle Toner

    • Rochelle Toner, Professor and Dean Emerita, is a nationally known printmaker and artist who works on paper. Toner served as the Dean of Tyler from 1989-2002.

      Toner’s prints, watercolor drawings and collages reflect her lifelong fascination with the dynamics of nature and human interaction.  The images are abstractly referential, suggesting sources and physical processes, without the intrusion of the literal. Toner’s prints and works on paper have been exhibited widely and are held in various museum and private collections, including the Philadelphia Museum of Art and Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.  Her most recent major exhibition was a career overview at the Philadelphia Print Center in 2018.
