Tyler Architecture's Bachelor of Science in Architecture is a 4-year pre-professional degree program that leads to the Professional Track of the Master of Architecture program.
Design studios are central to the Bachelor of Science in Architecture (BS ARCH) curriculum. Sequential studio courses serve as courses for the comprehension and synthesis of academic and professional knowledge and for the integration of thinking and making. Dedicated studio, woodshop, digital fabrication, and lab spaces allow for in-house drawing, modeling, and digital visualization. A sequence of rigorous technical courses, in building technology, environmental sustainability and structural design permeate the design studios. Two writing intensive courses in modern architectural history and in architectural theory are required. Students choose 15 elective credits, and international study at TU Rome is accommodated and encouraged in the spring of the third year or the fall of the fourth year.
BS ARCH students may apply for entry into the 2-year Professional Track of the Master of Architecture degree. If BS ARCH students meet the program requirements, they may elect to enroll in the accelerated Architecture 4+1 Program, a sequential undergraduate and graduate program.
