AIA Philadelphia Highlights Tyler's AED Department

Author: Emily Herbein

AIA Philadelphia recently published an umbrella overview of Tyler's Architecture and Environmental Design offerings, showcasing the hard work of faculty members across all primary focus areas: Environmental Research, Socio-Cultural Research, Urban Design, and Creative Making. The interconnection of faculty research and student work is evident within project assignments and studio courses; Professor Jeff Richards' 4th year design studio took a trip to FDR park to study the area's potential as a Southeast Asian market, while Dr. Jeffrey Doshna, AICP, spearheaded City and Regional Planning's efforts to research and design projects located within the scope of Philadelphia. Horticulture experts Drs. Sasha Eisenman and Josh Caplan were profiled for their ongoing work at Temple Ambler as they continue on a multi-year project in collaboration with Villanova, AECOM, and PennDOT to investigate factors affecting plant and soil health along the I-95 corridor of Philadelphia.
