Dr Emily Neumeier to speak at Harvard

This semester Dr. Emily Neumeier will be spending her sabbatical at Harvard University as a research fellow in the Aga Khan Program for Islamic Architecture. During this fellowship, she will be pursuing a new research project about practices of architectural restoration in Ottoman and Republican-era Istanbul, which she will discuss in an upcoming lecture on February 8. Neumeier has already begun investigating this topic in an essay that appears in her co-edited volume Hagia Sophia in the Long Nineteenth Century, which comes out this month with Edinburgh University Press.
