Tyler Associate Professor, Baldev Lamba at the 2019 ASLA Conference

At the 2019 ASLA Conference on Landscape Architecture in San Diego, CA., Baldev Lambalead a panel presentation titled “Design with Nature, 50 Years Later". The panelist speakers included Frederick Steiner, FASLA, Dean, Stuart Weitzman School of Design, Univ. of Penn, Anne Whiston Spirn, FASLA, Professor of Landscape Architecture and Planning at MIT and Carter van Dyke, ASLA, AICP, founding partner of CVDA and an Adjunct Professor at Temple University. In celebrating the fifty-year anniversary of Ian McHarg’s seminal Design With Nature, this panel provided insights into his legacy and broad influences, informed by personal experiences, and explores the relevance of his ecologically driven vision for addressing the contemporary and emerging issues causing accelerated impacts on the global environment. There was also be a book signing of Baldev Lamba's book Green Green, A community Gardening Story, co-authored with his wife Marie Lamba. This children’s book is illustrated by Sonia Sanchez and published by Farrar Straus Giroux/Macmillan
