Philip Glahn, associate professor of aesthetics and critical studies in Painting at the Tyler School of Art and Architecture, has an essay with Cary Levine, entitled “The Future Is Present: Electronic Café and the Politics of Technological Fantasy,” in Art Journal, the College Art Assocation's peer-reviewed journal that serves as a forum for scholarship and exploration in the visual arts.

Steven Charles, Tyler Painting MFA '96, is showing recent works in a solo show at Chris Worley Fine Arts in Dallas, TX, May 19-June 23, 2018.
Charles's work has been exhibited nationally in galleries and museums, as well as internationally in Canada and Spain. He has been the recipient of a Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant, and an Artist’s Fellowship from The New York Foundation for the Arts. His work has been reviewed in publications including Art in America, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and Vice among others. Houston-based artist Natasha Bowdoin, Tyler painting MFA '07, is currently showing her work "Maneater" at Mass MoCA in North Adams, MA. Her largest-ever cut-paper collage installation "investigates the intersections of the visual, the experiential, and the literary, treating language and nature as kindred phenomena." Angela McQuillan, a Philadelphia-based artist and curator, is profiled in the New York Times as part of the Business section's Vocations series. Currently the curator at the Esther Klein Gallery in Philadelphia, McQuillan studied painting at Tyler and graduated in 2010. Her work explores the intersection of science and the visual arts. The Department of Exhibitions and Public Programs of the Tyler School of Art and Architecture is pleased to host solo thesis exhibitions for 32 of Tyler's MFA Candidates. The exhibitions will take place February 21 – April 21 with a new show opening each Wednesday.
