Natasha Bowdoin, Painting MFA '07 shows at Mass MoCA

Houston-based artist Natasha Bowdoin, Tyler painting MFA '07, is currently showing her work "Maneater" at Mass MoCA in North Adams, MA. Her largest-ever cut-paper collage installation "investigates the intersections of the visual, the experiential, and the literary, treating language and nature as kindred phenomena." Temple University stands out at the 2018 Annual Meeting of the Renaissance Society of America

Renaissance rocks! Temple University stood out at the 2018 Annual Meeting of the Renaissance Society of America recently held in New Orleans. At least ten current faculty, graduate students and alumni were in the juried program or attended the conference: Tracy Cooper, Bethany Farrell, Elizabeth Duntemann, and Jasmine Cloud are seen here at the Italian Art Society reception; also participating as session organizers and/or speakers were Erin Downey, Margaret Morse, Art DiFuria, Sophia McCabe, Aliza Benjamin, and Cate Wallace.   Read More

Tyler Graduate Leads Painting Fundraiser

Art exists as both a product of passion and fuel for it. There are many worthwhile causes that require assistance to garner both interest and funds to support them, and even more artists who work hard to bring these goals to fruition. Recently, Joy Waldinger, a Tyler Alum and a professional artist, hosted a fundraising event to support students in need. Joy Waldinger graduated from Temple University with a BS in Art Education, and is working on her master's degree in restorative practices. Read More

Angela McQuillan, Painting B.F.A. '10, profiled in The New York Times

Angela McQuillan, a Philadelphia-based artist and curator, is profiled in the New York Times as part of the Business section's Vocations series. Currently the curator at the Esther Klein Gallery in Philadelphia, McQuillan studied painting at Tyler and graduated in 2010. Her work explores the intersection of science and the visual arts. Jennifer Packer (B.F.A. '07) exhibits work at Brandeis

Jennifer Packer: Tenderheaded will be on view in the Gerald S. and Sandra Fineberg Gallery at the Rose Art Museum at Brandeis University from March 2 through July 8 2018. Opening reception is March 1, 7-9 pm.  Based in observation, improvisation, and memory, this selection of recent work by Jennifer Packer (b. 1984) presents paintings of funerary bouquets and intimate portraits.   Read More
