Samara Weaver (BArch ‘11, MArch ‘13) has always been drawn to buildings, spaces, and the emotions they can evoke. She ties her early love of architecture to a childhood memory of Philadelphia’s grand, neoclassical 30th Street Station.  When deciding on her education, Weaver chose to obtain both an undergraduate and graduate degree in architecture rather than the fine arts due to her search for a more “structured job market,” she recently told Art Watch Podcast.   Read More

Michael J. Ernst (PhD student) awarded a Graduate Research Fellowship to work abroad

Michael J. Ernst (Ph.D. student) was awarded a Graduate Research Fellowship from the American Research Institute of the South Caucasus (ARISC), which is a member of the Council of American Overseas Research Centers (CAORC).  Michael plans to use this fellowship to help pay for expenses related to research in Azerbaijan focused on gas station prayer-houses built for Azerbaijan’s Shi’a Muslim population.
