Artist Statement

To envision a world of collective liberation is to flex, over and over again, the muscle of dreaming. In this endeavor, I strive for a delicate balance of whimsy and focus, care and fight. Armed with my sharpened tools of art, magic, and mischief, I make work that is polydisciplinamorous1 and often looks different from day to day, and project to project.

My works are often objects, images, and experiences that serve as visual, physical, and spiritual interventions into the world’s hegemonic logics. My creative inquiries manifest conceptually and promiscuously across a broad range of media including sculpture, installation, photo, video, performance, publication, printmaking, collage, and cross-media collaboration.

Most recently in my practice, I have sought to leverage world-building and performance as methods of questioning the ways that knowledge and power are enacted through symbols, objects, social relations, and ritual.
