Artist Statement 

Nghi To is an interdisciplinary designer and illustrator from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, now based in Philadelphia. She is interested in creating thoughtful visual narratives that facilitate spaces of wonder, acceptance, and inclusion. Specializing in publication and branding design, she uses design and illustration as a tool to engage with different aspects of her identity and bring people together. As a queer Vietnamese designer, her projects focus on generating creative solutions for human-centered initiatives through empathetic research and visual storytelling. Exploring topics from cultural belonging and queer identity to emotional literacy in children, her work is driven by a multicultural perspective and a desire to foster reflection, joy and connection.
